The Community Art Show began in 2020 as a way to stay connected during a time of isolation. What started as an invitation to create and share has grown into an annual tradition shaped by the people who take part. Now in its seventh year, more than 100 artworks fill the Museum. There is no single theme, medium or level of experience required. Anyone and everyone is invited to participate, creating an exhibition that changes each year alongside the community itself.

What changes when we look at Chilliwack’s history through the experiences of young people? Must Be 18+ to Enter brings together archival records and cultural materials that trace how generations of young people created spaces of their own, organized around issues that mattered to them, expressed themselves and participated in the life of their community.

Collecting Memory is an evolving, community-centered exhibition shaped by the stories, photographs, objects and memories shared by people across Chilliwack. Developed through the Museum’s Memory Workshop and informed by community participation, it considers how personal experiences become part of our collective history; and asks whose stories are remembered, preserved and shared. As new voices and memories are added, the exhibition will continue to change, reflecting a community whose history is still being made.
Join us for tours, workshops, talks, and hands-on learning experiences.

Look beyond the idea of the Archives as simply a place where the past is kept. Through the Chilliwack Pride Society fonds and recently collected materials, consider how the records we collect today shape the stories that can be told tomorrow.
Come curious and see what Halloween mischief is happening at the Museum. Make, play and look a little closer, there may be a trick or two, and almost certainly a few treats.
Drop in, try something new and make some time to create at the Museum.
